In commemoration of 50 years since the Space Needle first opened in Seattle, at the 1962 World's Fair, they decided to paint the top the original color they used in 1962. It's called "Galaxy Gold" although it more closely resembles orange. Whatever color it is, it goes nicely with the colors of the Autumn foliage in the foreground!
